Technical Support Specialist / Reservoir Engineer

Overview of Role:

Rock Flow Dynamics are looking for a motivated, dynamic, and enthusiastic reservoir engineer to become part of our engineering team. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of reservoir engineering, reservoir simulation, history matching, field development planning and optimisation. As a Support RE, the ideal candidate will be able to understand the technical challenges of an individual client, respond quickly to support requests, set up examples and custom workflows to enrich users’ experience, deliver technical trainings, and demonstrate the use of software to potential clients.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to users via phone and e-mail.
  • Consult users on working with tNavigator software across multiple reservoir modeling areas including: hydrodynamic, integrated modeling, fluid models, well models, and surface network modeling.
  • Offer prompt assistance in resolving user issues with tNavigator. Forward requests to second-line technical support, monitor progress, and keep clients informed about problem resolution.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Collaborate with software developers to deliver comprehensive user consultations on specific issues.
  • Test tNavigator software when investigating user inquiries. Identify problems and create tasks for software developers.
  • Prepare test cases and materials to demonstrate tNavigator functionality.
  • Possible business trips to resolve user issues on-site.
  • Meetings with clients to demonstrate tNavigator software functionality on their premises.
  • Potential participation in industry conferences.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise workload to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Must be motivated and able to work with team and independently.
  • Proven excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Fluent English (at least Upper-intermediate).
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Proactive attitude.
Education and Experience
  • Higher education in Petroleum Reservoir Development, Petroleum Geology, or Geophysics.
  • At least 3 years of experience with at least one of the following software products: tNavigator, Petrel, Irap RMS, Eclipse, Tempest.
  • Understanding of the 3D geological modeling process.
