Senior Reservoir Engineer – Tripoli, Libya

Job Summary:

Rock Flow Dynamics is looking for a motivated, dynamic, and enthusiastic reservoir engineer to become part of our engineering team. Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of reservoir engineering, reservoir simulation, history matching, field development planning, and optimisation. As a Support RE, the ideal candidate will be able to understand the technical challenges of an individual client, respond quickly to support requests, set up examples and custom workflows to enrich users’ experience, deliver technical training, and demonstrate the use of software to potential clients.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical focal point during testing and evaluation of software by prospective clients in Libya – onsite and remotely.
  • Provide technical support for existing clients to ensure clients satisfaction with the software – onsite and remotely.
  • Participate in conferences, events, and exhibitions when required.
  • Provide training to customers and employees when necessary.
  • Accompany sales account managers during presale meetings to demonstrate RFD software.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of reservoir modelling and simulation tools (i.e., tNavigator, ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, CMG, PETREL RE, NEXUS).
  • Desirable knowledge of surface modelling tools (i.e., GAP, Prosper).
  • Desirable knowledge of geological reservoir modelling tools (i.e., PETREL, SKUA, RMS).
  • Ability to prioritise workload to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Must be motivated and able to work with a team and independently.
  • Proven excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a true problem solver.
  • Solution orientated.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
Education and Experience:
  • Chemistry / Mathematics / Petroleum Engineer Bachelor’s Degree or similar.
  • Preferable with a Master or PhD in Reservoir Engineering / Petroleum Engineering / Petroleum Geosciences.
  • 3+ years experience as a Reservoir Engineer or Technical Support with simulation experience.
