Job Summary:

A major IT company specializing in software development for modeling of various types of oil and gas fields is seeking a Reservoir Engineer to join the Technical Documentation and Training Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop technical documentation for the software, including user manuals, technical descriptions (with mathematical formulas, formatted in LaTeX), and training courses (prepared in MS Word, PowerPoint, or LaTeX)
  • Create test models to illustrate software functionality in the following areas: dynamic reservoir simulation, history matching, uncertainty analysis, PVT, production network and wellbore modeling
  • Write articles, reports, marketing content, and other materials describing the company’s software
  • Deliver training sessions for clients on dynamic reservoir simulation using tNavigator
  • Test software functionality in the process of writing documentation
  • Collaborate with software developers and technical support teams to gather and verify the information needed to write documents
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Higher education in a technical field (preferably petroleum engineering or reservoir development)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a reservoir engineer with a solid understanding of reservoir simulation fundamentals
  • Experience with at least one of the following software tools: Eclipse, Tempest/MORE, IMEX, STARS, GEM, Petrel RE, GAP/RESOLVE, tNavigator
  • Interest in technical writing. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
  • Fluent written English (most of documentation is written in English)
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with LaTeX is an advantage
  • Willingness to work from the office
