Abstract

This paper presents an integrated asset modeling approach for reservoir coupling of 2 Sour offshore Abu Dhabi fields with three and four complex undeveloped reservoirs for each field respectively with different fluid types ranging from low CGR sour gas to sour oil in one shared surface network (Figure 1). The proposed methodology involves the development of a fully coupled surface and subsurface models to optimize field development with gas lift, water injection and gas recycling as part of the design and operations’ excellence.

In our quest to optimize field development strategies, we have developed a fully coupled surface and subsurface model. This approach integrates gas lift, water injection and gas recycling operations, paving the way for an enhanced understanding of their synergistic effects on reservoir performance. By concurrently accounting for these three crucial facets of oil field operations, the proposed model transcends conventional decoupled modeling frameworks.
