Hungarian Gas Storage Ltd. Adopts tNavigator for Advanced Storage Optimisation
September 29, 2025
Hungarian Gas Storage (HGS), part of the MVM Group, has successfully implemented tNavigator, our integrated reservoir modelling and simulation software, as a cornerstone of its digital transformation journey.
By adopting tNavigator, HGS can optimise its entire storage system with high-resolution simulations, delivering greater accuracy in decision-making, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced asset safety. The technology also supports the company in ensuring the structural integrity of porous reservoirs and in operating more safely and reliably.
In addition to conventional gas storage, HGS is leveraging tNavigator to drive research into green hydrogen storage, furthering its commitment to sustainability and contributing to Hungary’s energy transition goals.
We are proud to see tNavigator empowering HGS to combine innovation with energy security, enabling the delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable energy storage solutions across Central Europe.
Hydrogen-based projects at HGS:
The company is actively exploring the potential of underground hydrogen storage as part of Hungary’s national hydrogen strategy. Pilot initiatives are focused on blending hydrogen with natural gas, testing long-term storage in porous reservoirs, and developing infrastructure for large-scale green hydrogen integration. These efforts aim to support decarbonisation, renewable integration, and the creation of a sustainable hydrogen economy in Hungary and beyond.
