Rock Flow Dynamics Supports Pertamina’s InterWell CO2-EOR Injection Field Trial in East Java, Indonesia.

We are honoured to share that Rock Flow Dynamics has been actively involved in a cutting-edge interwell CO2 injection field trial at Pertamina’s field in East Java. As part of this important initiative, we’ve had the privilege of providing technical expertise and support through our advanced reservoir simulation software, tNavigator, which has played a critical role in predicting and evaluating the subsurface phenomena during the injection process.

Recently, Reizky, Rudini, and Reynaldi from Rock Flow Dynamics Indonesia had the unique opportunity to witness the CO2 injection firsthand at the wellsite. This invaluable experience allowed us to collaborate closely with Pertamina’s team to explore additional what-if scenarios, simulate potential variations in the injection process, and assess the resulting dynamics of the reservoir. This collaborative approach ensures that Pertamina can optimize operational strategies and gain a deeper understanding of the reservoir’s response in real time, ultimately supporting their long-term goals for field management and CO2 storage.

A special note of gratitude goes to Mbak Debby Halinda, Senior Reservoir Engineer at Pertamina, whose leadership, professionalism, and commitment to excellence made this field visit not only productive but also enriching for all involved. Her support and vision have been crucial in shaping this project, and we are deeply appreciative of her efforts in making this collaboration seamless.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the broader Pertamina Sukowati CO2 Project Team for their dedication and tireless efforts in making this field trial a reality. Your commitment to innovation and sustainable energy practices is truly inspiring, and we are excited to be part of this transformative journey with you.

As we move forward, we wholeheartedly wish Pertamina every success in their CO2 injection efforts. This field trial is a significant step toward advancing sustainable energy solutions, and we are confident that the results will not only meet, but exceed, Pertamina’s expectations. We believe that the insights gained from this project will serve as a solid foundation for future advancements in CO2 storage and enhanced oil recovery techniques.

At Rock Flow Dynamics, we remain committed to supporting Pertamina in their pursuit of innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions for energy production. We look forward to continuing this partnership and contributing to the future of the energy industry in Indonesia and beyond.

Here’s to the success of this ground-breaking field trial and to many more milestones together!

Field Trip

The tNavigator team in Aberdeen recently took a much-needed break from their usual routine, venturing to the Cowie formation in Stonehaven. This field trip was an opportunity for everyone, regardless of job title, to deepen their understanding of geology and engage in enriching group discussions.

From the moment we arrived, the Cowie formation captivated us with its stunning geological features. The area is renowned for its diverse rock formations, offering a unique opportunity to explore sedimentary layers and intriguing igneous intrusions, with each rock telling a story of it’s own.

Our team shared their insights, and all left with a richer appreciation of the complexities of geology.
